Planning for Minor Children
Providing for your children in case the unthinkable happens
We don’t always like to think about it, but do you know what would happen to your minor children if the worst were to happen? Estate planning with minor children is crucial and answers questions like:
Who would raise your children long term?
Who would be authorized too take care of your children in the short term?
Who would manage their assets?
Here at Provision Law Firm, we guide parents like you the process of answering and documenting the answers to these questions — giving you peace of mind should the unthinkable happen.

establishing a children’s emergency protection plan
A Children’s Emergency Protection Plan (CEPP) can keep your children from going into the foster care system should something happen to you where you are unable to care for your children. This plan will establish a temporary guardian if you are hospitalized and unable to care for them. It also establishes a medical power of attorney (decision maker) for your kids. This plan typically includes guidance for your temporary guardian including instructions for school, baby sitters, allowances, doctors, and letters of where to find important documents. Planning ahead with a Children’s Emergency Protection Plan can give you peace of mind that your children will be cared for even when you can’t care for them yourself.
